As many of you have noticed there was a minecraft update today. We did some testing and playing around and everything seems to be working great. If there are any problems that you notice let a staff member know to forward it to myself or cr0ss and we will get it taken care of asap. That said, everything seems to be running perfect so far! =)

Also, voting sites have rolled over for May so make sure you are voting every day! We will be rolling out the May voter special very soon!

SRBosses & Class Balance Patch

SRBosses is back up! This will be another weekend beta test. If all goes well expect it to be on the servers permanently soon.

Features:

-Over 50 abilities featuring many new abilities.
-5 levels of difficulty per ability.
-25 different monster types.
-Equipped monsters.
-Unique Boss colored boss names.
-Displayed health.
-Customizable amount of health.
-Special unique item drops.
-Permanent Boss Monsters that will spawn on a cooldown.
-Temp Boss Monsters for events such as Mob Vs Player.

Unique Items:

Loot Tiers:
Uncommon - Green
Magical - Blue
Rare - Yellow
Epic - Purple
Legendary - Gold

Prefix:
Prefixes are random and determine the type of enchants that are on an item.

Suffixes are random and determine a cool little effect for items that have them.

Class Balance Patch

Also, in today's patch are several tweaks to the different classes. This is a day later than we were hoping to get it out, but we have some cool new stuff and changes! Also, some bug fixes and more!

- Removed Adventure Mode from Emperor ranks and above to fix an exploit.
- Updated /list command along with Essentials.
    - Now can display listing of players based on group/rank.
    - Ex: /list Mod
        - This will display all Moderators online (that are not invisible).
    - Ex: /list Paladin
        - This will display all Paladin players online.
- Updated SR Auction plugin to capture percent based durability if the item warrants it. I may or may not be missing some items that have durability in my list, so let us know.
    - Also tacked on Item Lore as an extra message if the item has any Lore (such as Paladin gear, boss mob loot, etc).

- Fixed a glitch preventing players from issuing brewer commands.
- Power Brew:
    - Decreased strength increase from III to II.

Stealth:
    - Fixed a glitch allowing players to log out and back in to reset their stealth cooldown.

    - Cooldown now fires upon hitting a target with Grasp, preventing misses from triggering it.

Marksman:

- Increased bonus damage by half a heart per level of draw strength on bow. Max of 3.5 now instead of 3.

Leap:
    - Lowered Cooldown from 20 seconds to 14 seconds. This is to help combat problems players are having getting distance required for full bow draw strength.

    - Adjusted checks for height variance. Now will only not trigger for players below 3 blocks of the Gladiator. This should allow for less chance of failures while jumping around using this ability.

    - Increased self heal from 4 hearts to 6 hearts.

    - Increased duration of hymns from 30 seconds each to 60 seconds.
    - Lowered cooldown on casting Hymns from 20 seconds to 15 seconds.
        - This will allow for more weaving of Hymns to fit your needs.

Golden Attunement:
    - Replaced how Durability works for both Sword and Armor. Should properly break now.

Hand of Light:
    - Cooldown increased from 9 to 10 seconds.

Holy Remedy:
    - Cooldown increased from 12 to 14 seconds.

Shield Block (Passive):
    - Lowered chance to block with iron shield out from 65% to 55%.

Shield Slam:
    - Lowered velocity on knockbacks to help prevent some glitches.

Pyromancer:

Fireball (Large):
    - Cooldown increased from 1 second to 3 seconds.

New Ability - Phoenix! (Channeled):
    - Activated by right clicking with Magma Cream, while sneaking. 30 second cooldown.
        - Must remain sneaking for channel duration. Will cancel if not sneaking.
    - While channeling, the Pyromancer sends out waves of fire, burning all those in its path, while also removing their fire protection buffs. The Pyromancer also regenerate their health at an alarming rate during this time.
    - After completing channeling, if Phoenix Reborn is not on cooldown, the Pyromancer gains a a temporary buff called Phoenix Reborn for a short time (1 minute).

New Ability - Phoenix Reborn! (Passive):
    - Activated after channeling with Phoenix, if not on cooldown (10 minute cooldown).
    - Causes the Pyromancers next death to be prevented, respawning them in a wave of fire at their death location instead, gear intact.
    - Upon death or timeout (60 seconds) after receiving this buff, Phoenix Reborn is removed and put on cooldown (10 minutes).

Quick update on some things coming...

Balance patch: Should be out mid week.

SRQuests/SRBosses: Should both be back up later this week. Might be a little more testing and changing things. SRBosses is a huge and unique plugin which is why it is not seen elsewhere other than the Savage Servers. Received a lot of great data from everyone from the weekend we had it up. Have done some changes, bug fixes, and performance increases. New version should be back up for this weekend at the latest. As a side note on SRQuests. It is all running perfectly but SRBosses is built with it which is the only reason it has been down. Should be a lot more fun to come with all the awesome bosses, loot, and quests!

Coming Soon: As we have alluded to recently we have some BIG stuff coming for May and this Summer. All of the servers will be receiving some amazing plugins and some other great changes. It is going to be a busy and fun time on the Savage servers this Summer!

SR Boss Loot

As you all know the planned release date, barring complications, is this Friday for SRBosses. But on to what you all really care about....... Boss Loot!

Website Changes
Over the coming days for Main, Raid, and RPG there will be some website changes. The big part of these changes is that you will need to tie your character to your website account. Once in place there should be a little pop up which will ask you to do so. Just follow the instructions. Otherwise you can go to your Enjin profile, at the top right, and go to Characters. Once there you can choose to add a new or existing character to the website.

To verify you can do one of two things. First, you can login to the Enjin minecraft verification server and type a command to verify your account. OR you can go to their website which will emulate the minecraft.net login page. The instructions are all fairly simple to follow and we will have further instructions on the site as we move forward.

What's Good About This?
A couple things. First, it will allow you to have your in game ranks linked to the website. That means if you are a Helper and a VIP in game it will automatically sync it on the website. This will also help our management system a lot. Secondly, it will make rank upgrades automatic. You will be able to select what rank you want to upgrade to on the donations page and automatically get upgraded on the website and game.

There are a few other changes to the website, which will just make things better all around, along with some other big stuff we are working on for the near future. Exciting times on the Savage Realms servers!

Helper Wipe
We are also wiping all the current Helpers. Why? It has been a loooong time since we have and there are a lot of inactive Helpers and also some Helpers who are just not helping.

How do I get Helper back?
You will need to reapply on the Helper post. Everyone will have to do this. Staff will then go over those who really deserve a shot at Helper.

Gethaine, Darkane, and Khaos will be doing Helper promotes again shortly. Apply again and any good Helpers, or new ones who deserve a shot, will have it back shortly!

Will this hurt my chance at a Chat Mod promote?
Nope. We will know, and the rest of the staff will know, that you had been a helper before and doing a good job for when the next Chat Mod promotes come up

There will also be some promotes this weekend. Anyone that was going to have been promoted to Chat Mod this weekend still will be even though the Helper tag will be lost for now.

Easter Donor Special!

Shadowknight(PvP)

The Shadowknight is a cunning fighter, using life leeching abilities to keep himself alive. They also have the opportunity to level the playing field against classes that utilize buffs!

Must use an Iron Chestplate and Iron Leggings for all abilities.
Siphon

Activated by right clicking with a bone at a target area. (Can hit allies!)

This ability will strip 1 random buff from each target within the area and give them to the Shadowknight, with slightly increased duration.
Heals the Shadowknight based on the number of players hit by the AOE. (half a heart per player).
30 second cooldown.

Shadow Cocoon

Activated by parrying and channeling with a Sword (right click). (If you release the parry/channel, the cocoon fades.)

The cocoon slows you to a crawl while draining life from nearby enemies and giving it to the Shadowknight.
Lasts 5 seconds.
25 second cooldown.

Shadow Grasp

Activated by right clicking (while sneaking) a target player with a bone. (Can be used on allies!)

After a few seconds pass, the targetted player will go back to the location they were when you activated Shadow Grasp.
Slows the target after being returned.
35 second cooldown.

Gather Darkness

Activated by right clicking a Ghast Tear.

All party members within 20 blocks gain invisibility for 8 seconds.
At the end of the duration, all enemies within 5 blocks of each party member receive Blindness for 3 seconds.
90 second cooldown

Martyr(PvP)

The martyr is a fighter who is willing to sacrifice himself for the thrill of winning the battle!

Must use an Gold Chestplate /Pants and Leather Helm/Boots along with for all abilities.
Bloodlust

Passive

Deal extra damage based on how much health you are missing.

Flagellation

Activated by attacking with a Gold Sword.

Applies poison on hit to your foe.
Damages the Martyr on use.

Revitalize

Activated by right clicking with a Gold Axe.

Applies a strong heal over time effect to the Martyr.

Switch Now!

Activated by left clicking with a Gold Axe.

Switches most of your health total with most of your targets.

Bounty Hunter(PvE)

The Bounty Hunter is the master of the hunt.....and getting paid to hunt!

Got Your Head!

30% chance for a player to drop their head when a Bounty Hunter kills them.

Only Bounty Hunters can place a head with a player's skin.

Pick Pocket

Chance to take part of a player's gold when the Bounty Hunter kills them.

Can get up to .02 of the player's gold.
Up to a 1000 Gold cap.
Measures in place to ensure people are not griefed by this.

Collect Bounties

Bounty Hunter's claim bounties when killing player's with a bounty on them.

Monster Bounties

/bounty

A bounty on certain monsters for the Bounty Hunter to collect every day!
Shows which monster to kill and the amount to collect the bounty.

/bountyplace (Everyone can use!)

Usage /bountyplace name amount

Places a bounty on a player.

Shows information about bounties on you.
Has other useful information for Bounty Hunters!

Shadowknight Abilities

And why yes that is Gethaine's voice! =)

To receive one of these classes, or all three, as a free bonus on top of the already discounted prices and extra gold you must donate the above listed amount between 3/30 and 4/3. These donations must be during the special as to be fair to everybody.

Classes received during the special will act similar to donating to a class normally, you will simply get permission to use that class sign for free as you please in case you want to switch back and forth.

(Two notes...)
- The boss name in the above picture is completely random but that zombie really hates all those frickin snakes on those frickin planes! (A few of you will get that joke.) =)
- On a more serious note, there will also be a bug fix patch when SRBosses drops for a few bugs with SRQuests.
- Raid specific note. I know there is one type of TNT cannon that has been goofy. The rest work. Updates to other plugins plus some playing around with settings hopefully will help with this.

I am very excited to release this plugin. It is coming together great, and the few people who have seen it so far love it! Look for more updates as we push closer to SRBosses release!

SR QUESTS

SR QUESTS

SR Quests is now up and functional!

To Get a Quest
You MUST have an item in hand or right click the sign!

How it works:
-Go to a NPC/SRQuest sign and right click to get quest info.
-Right click again to accept the quest.
-Finish the quest task and receive your reward!

Useful Commands:
-/srquest info - Gives information on your current quest.
-/srquest abort - Aborts your current quest.

Quest Types:
-Kill: IE go kill 10 zombies.
-GoTo: IE go to the end of this parkour(Some of these will have timers you must beat!)
-Delivery: IE Go deliver this letter to Joe! (You must have the item in your hand to deliver.)
-Collect: IE Collect 10 apples!
-Boss (Coming Soon!)

What Quests are Done?
-Main/RPG - The first 6 Biomes not including hidden quests.
-Events - All 3 Biomes not including hidden quests.
-Raid - 3 quests are in the middle of Obsidian Plains.

When Will the Rest be Done?
-Soon. We are going to let some of the Admins redo some of the later and hidden quests for everyone.

Will there be Bugs?
-Probably a bug here or there. The best way to get these fixed, should they pop up, asap is to contact a Mod+ and have them relay the message to me so I can fix it.

What's So Good About SRQuests?
-Built completely inhouse so we have complete control over what we want to do with it.
-It will allow us to have quests that interface with the upcoming SRBosses and SRAchievements.
-It will not break every Minecraft update like past plugins.

More to come. This is the first taste of things being worked on. Next in line is SRBosses then SRAchievements with a couple other things on the horizon. Remember, not all of the quests are completely finished. Give it a few days as the staff is looking forward to custom making some of the later quests for everyone!

SR Raid is on 1.5!

*Update* Known Bug. If you have an item you should not have. For instance, something that was spawned in which technically is not a real item it may crash you when looking at it in a chest or your inventory. If this happens to you remove the chest, clear your inventory, or ask for a staffs assistance with it.

MOST things seem fine right now, but as happens with new minecraft builds and new bukkit builds there will probably be some bugs. Report them to a staff member and we will get them taken care of as soon as we can! =)

Patch Notes:

- Updated to 1.5; some items are restricted (such as hopper/dropper for now, in case of dupe glitches. will test more). More items are restricted from /i for now as well (such as quartz).

- Emperor +
- Upon switching to Creative Mode, inventory saved to memory.
- Upon switching back to Survival Mode, restores inventory. NOTE: If server restarts before you revert back to survival, your inventory will be lost. This is not being saved to a file/database, only in memory (which is lost upon a restart).

- Villager trading should be allowed.
- Dispensers should be allowed.

- Old Combat Logging plugin broke. I coded a new one. BEWARE: No more NPC (screw npcs), you log you auto die/lose stuff. Don't combat log!

- Updated Towny/Economy files. Supposedly changes were made to them to help prevent money loss. We'll find out.
- Updated Chestshop, supposedly will have a bit better performance and less bugs.

- Raid got SR Chat!

- Quick update on SRQuests. Plugin is pretty much done. Working on some of the tying in features. Expect it, if not more, Monday or Tuesday.

1.5 Update and More!

Remember

Minecraft 1.5 is set to be released March 13th.

Do NOT upgrade your client until the Savage Realms servers have updated to 1.5!!!

If you do before we update you will not be able to play on the Savage Realms servers until we have updated to 1.5. As usual we will get everything up and running on 1.5 as fast as possible, but like everyone else we must wait for Bukkit so it is hard to give an exact time table. Rest assured we will be working to get everything 1.5 compatible as soon as possible and up as fast as we can for everyone!

Also, the first part of our big update is set to follow shortly after everything on 1.5 is fine. Note, complications may come up due to 1.5, but we plan to get the following features out asap over the course of a couple updates with the first coming after everything with 1.5 is fine.

Planned Features

SRQuests - New in house made quest system. All quests will be redone on this. Designed not to break during Minecraft updates as past quest systems have. Designed so that Admins can design new quests for everyone. Planned to be on Raid as well.

SRBosses - New in house made Boss system. Designed to bring another level of fun to questing and doing dungeons on SR. All new abilities. Designed so Admins can create bosses, and Mods+ can create temp bosses for events such as Mob vs Player. Planned to be on Raid as well.

SRAchievements - New in house made Achievements system. Will feature several known Achievements and several Achievements which everyone will get to look for. Will have some cool ways to show off your Achievements. Planned for all SR servers.

SRKill_____ - New in house made Kill _____ system. Will monitor several _____. Will feature ______ boards. Being designed to avoid the ___ caused by other similar plugins.

SR_____ - New in house made system planned to feature special Events where randomly ________ will _____. This will include large groups of _____ _______ as well as one ___ ____ ________. Will include prizes for _______ ________ as well as the ____ _______. Planned to include a ____ tracking system as well as a ______ _____.

As a note, some things may change with some of these. The first three are pretty much set in stone with the first couple set to come out very soon. The last couple may change quite a bit as they are being developed, but those are the plans. Planning to have part 1 out shortly after 1.5 and the other features to come out afterwards.

Whats coming? A lot!

I am sure a few of you are wondering what and when new stuff is coming. Well, I have some answers for you. First off, we are waiting for 1.5 to hit. Sounds like it will be hitting next week. Remember NOT to update until we do. As always with Minecraft patches there may be some things that are broken, changed, etc from the patch. We will get things up and running as fast as possible!

After that my birthday is coming mid March. Happy birthday to me! What does that mean for you guys? As a birthday gift I want to make 100 percent sure the new plugin I am working on is done and out by then.

Below are the planned features. I debated on posting these simply because they are not guaranteed. 1.5 could really goof stuff up, so just to reiterate these are what are planned, not 100 percent set in stone as things can happen with big patches.

-New SavageQuests plugin. New quests plugin for the Savage Realms servers from in house. Will have a lot of the normal quest functionality you are used to plus more. There will also be some features to allow Admins to create some more neat quests for you guys as well. Plan to have this on Raid in some form. The best part about it? It shouldn't break every update! =)

-New SavageBosses plugin. Redoing the bosses for the RPG worlds with new different abilities working much better from a plugin coded in house. Also, plan to have functionality for high staff to make their own bosses and other staff to be able to make temp bosses for things such as MvP. Also would like this functionality to be on Raid so the staff can play with it there to make some fun things for you guys and perhaps some bosses to fight over!

-New SavageAcheivements plugin. A bunch of new achievements, some which will be known and others to find, to go out in the world and complete. Upon completing an achievement you will unlock being able to use it. What will being able to use it do? Well, let's say I get the "Baller" achievement which is gathering 10000 diamonds. I could then do something like:
/acheivement baller cr0ssvtw. It would then report to everyone, "Acidsin is a baller and makes it rain all over cr0ssvtw's face!" ..... or something similar just for example! Complete with fun little effects. The achievements portion is planned to tie in with the bosses and quests plugin as well.

-Website integration with the servers. What does this mean? It means your tag in game will line up with the forums. It also means that donors will be able to automatically upgrade to a new rank without any wait! It will also make some things easier for us which is always nice!

-Some other things that need to be cleaned up a bit....

-Other stuff cr0ss is working on. The above is just my list of big stuff planned to come!

We also have some other cool ideas we are kicking around to work on after all of this is finished. Should be some fun stuff to come. Sorry for any wait but I hope it will be worth it, and thanks as always for being such a great community!

Small update + Mini Patch Notes!

Hey all,

Just wanted to give you guys a heads up of what's been going on, since we've been sort of out of communication with you all.

We're awaiting the release of 1.5 before we do any major updates, because we want to see what all breaks and what not, as well as having to deal with updating all our plugins + all our 3rd party plugins to the new version.

While we expected 1.5 to drop sometime last month, that did not happen, and here we are...

So in the mean time, I've been collecting some information and doing some playing myself, and came to the following PvP class balance notes:

Shaman:

- Now has the pleasure of getting hit by Assassin's Mages Bane.

- Fixed an issue where the thread got stuck in a loop preventing players from placing Healing Totems again.

Paladin:

- Fixed an issue where the thread got stuck in a loop preventing players from using Holy Shield.

Hand of Light:

- In addition to healing the target, now purifies the target of all detrimental effects and grants a small speed boost to both the paladin and target if it actually removes an effect.

Bard:

- Now has the pleasure of getting hit by Assassin's Mages Bane.

Cleanse:

- Increased cooldown from 10 seconds to 15 seconds.

Inspiration:

- Lowered heal for party from 7 hearts to 6 hearts.

- Lowered heal for self from 5 hearts to 4 hearts.

- Updated text to display properly.

Gladiator:

Hamstring & Critical Strikes:

- Added a 2 second internal cooldown, preventing these from triggering/spamming nonstop.

Assassin:

Mages Bane:

- Can now open up on Bard and Shaman, with Archmage/Mage gone.

- Now also adds confusion effect for 6 seconds.

Incoming Patches

We are working to finish up a few things and plan for a nice patch early/mid February. This should include the new SavageQuests plugin(with extras), the new Savage Realms only Golden Gun plugin, A new streamlined donor shop with automatic upgrades along with auto syncing your in game ranks with the forum, a new RPG biome, quests/dungeons with pvp enabled for raid, some bug fixes, balancing, and more!

Small Bug Fix Patch

Due to a base bug we are doing a small patch tonight. It will make it so that anyone with a stack of armor will automatically have it reverted back to one piece. Nobody is supposed to have a stack of armor anyways so this should be fine and will fix a bug that was out of our control.

That said, you can still sell multiple pieces of armor at once from a shop. Shop owners make sure to switch any armor selling shops down to only 1 piece at a time. Anybody who is buying from shops make sure not to buy from a shop selling more than 1 piece at a time. If you do it will be reverted back to 1 piece.

Patch Notes (Jan 21st) & January Voter Prize winners!

Hi all,

This is the majority of a big patch I've been working on for a little bit here and there. There are some larger parts of this I haven't completed yet, but they will come within the week, I hope. Acidsin is still working on the RPG plugin, he says it'll be about a week or so and he hopes by next weekend to have it ready. It's a rather substantial plugin, to it is taking a bit of time.

Here are the notes of what I've done so far, this is mostly balance changes and some minor bug fixes. Expect more in the next week or so! Also, Shaman/Chaos Crusader/Brewer and Tailor will all be made available to the public within the next couple of days.

How to Claim Prizes

All winners who won extra town blocks have been given them. For winners who won a Beacon Block have your town mayor contact Gethaine or Darkane via private message on the forum with the exact coordinates you would like it placed at. If you could put something to show them where you want the beacon block to be it will ensure it is in the exact proper place.

At the Build World spawn plots there is a sign with which plot each town has won. To get build perms for this plot the town mayor will need to contact Gethaine or Darkane or a Srmod or Admin. Include any assistants you want to build there. Once you have it setup and ready to go let Gethaine or Darkane or an Admin know and they can setup a portal going from the spot that you set to your town spawn.

Other Notes

We have a big patch coming. Some of you may have already noticed that some of the stuff is already in game. This patch includes many things from back end updates, to in game tweaks, to class balancing, etc. The rest should be coming later this week. We will have full patch notes at that time.

The Golden Gun plugin is still be worked on and needs a few last tweaks before it will be ready. Also, there will be a new RPG biome as mentioned which is still being worked on and will be coming in a bit here but..........that brings us to the next point...

As some of you know, the RPG world is down due to the plugin that was running it not functioning how we would like it to. Due to this we will be coding a new RPG plugin from the ground up in house. While this is a lot of extra work that we were not anticipating, we are hoping that it will give us the opportunity to add some other little things in which we would like and also keep it so that it does not break every patch. This is a pretty good size project, but we will try to get it done asap so please bare with us a bit!

Duelist(PvE)

The Duelist can challenge other players to a duel and wager gold on the line if they wish. Once accepting the duel they will be teleported to an arena and fight until there is a victor!

Awesome effect making End Portals pulse out from you!.

Crippling Disease

Explodes in front of the NightLord causing damage and slowing players.
30 second CD. Stronger at Night.
Neat explosion effect.

Bat Swarm

Summons Bats to hurt your opponents and make them miss attacks!
45 second CD. Stronger at Night
Effect summons Bats!

Void Zone

Summons an area on the ground which damages and slows players.
60 second CD. Stronger at Night
Very cool effect which lays a big Ender portal mass on the ground.

Night Hunter

Makes all abilities of the NightLord stronger at night.
Applies speed boost, small damage boost, and night vision at night.

ULTIMATE: Night

Turns the world to night for 30 seconds.
Long Cooldown.

Chainmail Helm

A Tier 3 class should look like one. NightLords wear chainmail helms!
Your helm automatically turns into one.

Savage PvP V3 is Live!

Savage PvP is now live!

Change list below:

-New 1.4 map!

-Old Warzone is back.

-Old Spawn is back with a couple adjustments.

-Faction Chat is back.

-Obsidian Biomes

-There are just a few in the world. Factions can not claim land on them but can near them.

-New Shield Faction Rule.

-Shield Factions are not allowed. This will be enforced by staff.

-Obsidian made a bit stronger.

-Vanilla Warzone updated with the coliseum.

-Wild Portals are gone and only available to first time players.

-A few other misc changes.

-Congrats to PsychoVulcan and his faction for claiming the End of the World spot on v2!
